That sparkling diamond ring attracts dirt from everyday life. It is a good idea to keep your special piece of Diamond Jewellery sparkling, by cleaning your diamond at home. If you take the Diamond Jewellery to a Jeweller it will cost you money and many Jewellers use harsh commercial chemicals. You can clean your diamond ring at home using everyday household products.
1. Ensure that the area you are going to clean the ring in is a large flat surface, not near sinks, plug holes or drains.
2. Put ½ cup ammonia and 1 cup warm water into a glass bowl. Let the ring sit in this solution for between 10 and 20 minutes to loose any grease and dirt. Make sure you use this solution in a room with the window open for ventilation.
3. Use a damp soft-bristle toothbrush to remove any remaining dirt. Use the brush to remove any dirt or grease from the top, sides and bottom of the diamond setting, getting the soft bristles into the small crevices of the diamond setting. Be gentle when brushing so you do not scratch the gold, or loosen the diamond setting.
4. Rinse the ring in clear water and dry with a soft clean towel.
