My Midnight Dream
'Twas midnight where I saw the fox
Idle stood beneath the stars
His pelage like an equinox
That glistened in the dark
And his eyes, Deep auburn eyes
Burned like golden flicks of flames
And I knew beneath these tear filled skies
This was a beast for none to tame
And as he dipped toward the earth
As if to bow for courtesy's sake
I too followed to show my worth
Awaiting his next move to make
But as he bore his fangs and gaped
There was no malice to be born
No dim demeanor o'er his frame to drape
But just a simple, tiresome yawn
And with that he fell to dreaming
Despite my presence ever near
There's no point in myself deceiving
The honest truth; He didn't care
