Officers were seeking the areas on the north end of the city, which is found around 90 miles northwest of Columbus.
"All accessible troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol have been joined by Allen County Sheriff's delegates and neighborhood requirement in securing a border and seeking the territory," said Ohio Department of Public Safety Director John Born. "A Patrol helicopter with cutting edge infrared recognition gear has been sent and is occupied with the pursuit also."
Inhabitants have been encouraged to bolt their entryways and stay inside.

The 19-year-old was most recently seen wearing an Allen Correctional Institution jail uniform.
He was one of two detainees who got away from the office. The other man was Clifford E Opperud, 45, initially from Carlisle.
